Characteristics of Kinetic Family Drawing(K-F-D) Responses in Adolescents with Conduct Disorder

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of the K-F-D reponses in normal adolescents and those with conduct disorder, Subjects were 41 conduct patients and 48 normal controls.
Each subject's K-F-D responses were scored and analysed according to the objective scoring system which combined the ones developed by Burns' and Myers' separately.
As a result, there were significant differences in the following variables between two groups : activity level of father(p<.01), activity level of mother(p<.01), cooperative mother(p<.05), cooperative self(p<.01), father missing(p<.01), facial
expression of father(p<.05), ascendent self(p<.01), shading or crosshatching(p<.05), evasion(p<.001), barriers(p<.01), fields of force between family members 2(p<.01).
These results were summarized as follows : The adolescents with conduct disorder did not have a good image of their parents, and in fact their parents did not perform proper roles in the society and family. It was also found that those
adolescents
felt
conflicts with their father in particular among their ramily members. They themselves neither performed properly nor got along with their family members. They exibited unstable and evasive attitudes.
According to the above results of this study, it was concluded that K-F-D could be effective in assessing the perception by adolescents with conduct disorder of their places and roles in their family, and the interactions among family members.
